Free Telegram gifts: do they exist and how to get one
Short answer: there are no truly free gifts in Telegram: Telegram doesn't give them away for nothing. You can get a gift for free only from people: in channel giveaways, for activity in chats, or when someone gives one just like that. Anything that promises a “free gift” by a link is most often a scam.
Do free gifts exist
Gifts in Telegram are bought for Stars, which means someone's money always stands behind them. Telegram has no official gift giveaway. You get a gift for free when another person pays for it.
Where you can really get a gift for free
1. Giveaways in channels
Many channels raffle gifts among their subscribers. Usually you need to subscribe to the channel, press a participation button or complete a simple condition. The winner is chosen by a bot or by the organizer, and the gift is sent to them in private messages.
2. Activity in chats and channels
When new unlimited gifts come out (for example, holiday teddy bears), bloggers and channel owners often give them to active participants in the comments. To be among those people, take part in discussions, answer questions and communicate in the channel's chat. At Crypto HITLIST we also give gifts in the comments to active chat participants when new unlimited gifts come out.
3. A gift just like that
Sometimes friends and acquaintances give gifts for no reason. It happens, but you can't count on it.
How not to fall for scammers
The topic of “free gifts” is a favorite among scammers. Typical schemes:
- A “get a free gift” link, after which you are asked to log in to your account, enter a code from an SMS or a password. A real gift never requires this.
- “To receive the gift, pay a fee or delivery.” Gifts in Telegram are delivered for free.
- “A giveaway where everyone wins” or “you are guaranteed to have won”.
- A bot that asks you to send Stars or a gift “to activate the prize”.
- A message from an acquaintance asking you to follow a link: their account may have been hacked.
Safety rules
- Take part only in giveaways of channels you trust. Check that the winner was chosen by a bot or by the organizer, and not “automatically” by a link.
- Never share your login code or password, and don't follow links that ask you to log in to Telegram.
- A gift appears on your profile or in the chat by itself. If it has to be “activated” somewhere on the side, it is a scam.
- Turn on a cloud password (two-step verification) in the “Privacy” section.
Stars can be earned, not received for free
The “My Stars” section has an item “Earn Stars”: you share links to mini apps and receive part of their revenue in Stars. This is not a free gift but earnings, and its terms depend on the mini app.
