Telegram Premium gift: how to send it, receive it and avoid scams
Short answer: you can give any user a Telegram Premium subscription for 3, 6 or 12 months. You can do it in the app itself (for money or Stars) or through Fragment (for GRAM, USDT or USDC), where it is usually cheaper. The recipient never has to enter a password or login code: if a “gift” asks you to log in to your account, it is a scam.
Option 1. Give Premium in the Telegram app
- Open the person's profile, tap “more” (three dots) and choose “Send a gift”.
- At the top of the screen there is a “Gift Premium” block: 3 months, 6 months or 1 year.
- Choose the term and confirm the payment. You can pay with money (the price is shown in your currency) or with Stars.
The price is shown in the currency of your country, so below it is converted to dollars at the rate of early November 2026. The real amount depends on your region, taxes and the exchange rate:
- 3 months: about $17.8 or 1,000 Stars;
- 6 months: about $25.5 or 1,500 Stars (5% discount);
- 1 year: about $38.2 or 2,500 Stars (30% discount).
Below the Premium block, the same window has a catalog of regular gifts (tabs “All”, “Mine” and “Collectible”). They can be kept on your profile or exchanged for Stars.
Option 2. Through Fragment (often cheaper)
Fragment is an official platform linked to Telegram, where Stars, gifts, Premium and other things are sold. The subscription is paid for in cryptocurrency.
- Open fragment.com and go to the Premium tab.
- Enter the recipient's name (@username) or choose “Buy for myself” if you are buying it for yourself.
- Choose the term: 3 months, 6 months or 1 year.
- Choose the payment method: GRAM (TON network), USDT or USDC, connect your wallet and confirm the payment.
Example prices on Fragment at the time of our check: 1 year — 24.14 GRAM (about $28.99), 6 months — 13.31 GRAM ($15.99), 3 months — 9.98 GRAM ($11.99). The site also had promotional discounts. Prices and discounts change, so compare both prices before you buy.
How to receive a Premium gift
The gift arrives as a message in the chat from the sender. Tap it in the Telegram app and confirm the activation. You don't need to enter a phone number, password or a code from a message.
How scammers work
- They send a message from an acquaintance (or from an “acquaintance” whose account was hacked) with a “Premium gift”.
- The link text looks like
t.me/premium, but it leads to a page that copies the Telegram login. - If you enter your number, password or code, the account ends up in the scammers' hands. Then a “24-hour timer” appears: that is how long Telegram doesn't let you end other people's sessions. After that you will be kicked out of your account.
- Variations: a “giveaway where everyone wins” and “hacked” versions of the app where Premium is “already on” (they may contain a virus).
How to protect yourself
- Any “gift” that asks you to log in to your account is a scam.
- Check the link: a real one starts with
https://t.me/and has nothing extra. - Ask your acquaintance whether they really sent the gift, using another channel (a call or another messenger).
- Turn on a cloud password (two-step verification) in the “Privacy” section.
- In “Settings → Devices”, turn on automatic termination of sessions, for example after a week of inactivity.
- Buy Premium only in the official Telegram app or on fragment.com. Check the site address: fakes copy the name.
