How to buy a Telegram gift: regular, limited and collectible
Short answer: you buy a gift for Telegram Stars through “Send a gift”. Unlimited gifts are available to everyone and cost little (often 50 Stars), while limited gifts haven't been released for a long time, so they are bought from current owners on marketplaces. It is better to buy collectible gifts on marketplaces for GRAM rather than for Stars.
Step 1. Top up your Stars
Gifts are paid for in Stars. How to buy them is described in the guide How to buy Telegram Stars. If you don't have enough on your balance, top it up through Settings → My Stars → Top up.
Step 2. Send a gift
- Open Settings → Send a gift, or open a person's profile and tap “more” → “Send a gift”.
- Choose a gift in the catalog (tabs “All”, “Mine” and “Collectible”).
- Add a caption if you want and confirm the payment in Stars.
Unlimited and limited gifts: what's the difference
Unlimited
- They come out mostly for holidays. Most often it is a teddy bear themed for the holiday.
- The price is usually 50 Stars.
- You can buy them while the gift is in the catalog; the number of copies is not limited.
- Such a gift can't be transferred to another person. It stays on your profile.
What you can do with an unlimited gift:
- keep it on your profile;
- hide it;
- exchange it for Stars within 7 days of receiving it;
- delete it (deleting unlimited gifts was added recently).
Limited
The supply of these gifts is limited, so they are considered the most valuable. New limited gifts haven't been released for a long time. Right now the market is mostly waiting for upgrades for the gifts bought back in 2025. A limited gift can only be bought from its current owner.
Where to buy a collectible gift
Collectible gifts are bought on marketplaces. Among the best are Bubble, MRKT, Portals, Tonnel and GetGems. Transfer restrictions: “dirty” Stars
A gift may have restrictions on sale and transfer for up to 21 days if the Stars for its upgrade were bought through third-party bots. Before you buy, ask the seller whether such a restriction is on the gift.
Offers
An offer is a price proposal to the owner of a gift. You can send it for a gift if its transfer isn't restricted because of “dirty” Stars. We advise doing it on marketplaces and for GRAM. For Stars and on Telegram's internal market, many owners are afraid to accept offers: fraud and swapped terms are common there.
Will new gifts be sold at auction
This is unknown for now. The decision is Telegram's, and no such auctions have been officially announced. We will write in our channel if the situation changes.
How not to lose money
- Buy only in the Telegram app and on well-known marketplaces.
- Don't transfer money on personal requests to “swap gifts”.
- Check the number and name of the gift before paying.
- Never share your login code or password.
