How to buy Telegram Stars: in the app and through Fragment
Short answer: you can buy Telegram Stars in the app (Settings → My Stars → Top up) or on Fragment for GRAM. Stars are used to buy gifts, to pay in mini apps and to subscribe to content. On Fragment, Stars usually cost less than in the app.
What Stars are for
Telegram Stars are used to pay for content and services in mini apps. They are also used to pay for gifts, both regular and collectible. More about gifts in the guide Telegram gifts: what they are, how they work and what they cost.
Option 1. Buy Stars in the app
- Open Settings and tap “My Stars”. Your balance is shown there (it can be fractional, for example 38.34).
- Tap “Top up”.
- Choose a package and confirm the payment. If the package you need isn't in the list, tap “Show more options”.
The prices in the app are shown in the currency of your country. Below they are converted to dollars at the rate of early November 2026; the real amount depends on your region, taxes and the exchange rate:
- 100 Stars: about $2.4;
- 250 Stars: about $6.0;
- 500 Stars: about $12.0;
- 1,000 Stars: about $23.9;
- 2,500 Stars: about $59.9;
- 10,000 Stars: about $239;
- 35,000 Stars: about $841.
So in the app, 100 Stars cost roughly $2.4. Note that on iPhone and Android the payment goes through the app store, and the price may be higher because of its commission.
Option 2. Buy Stars on Fragment
- Open fragment.com and go to the Stars tab.
- Choose the recipient: enter a Telegram username or tap “Buy for myself” to buy for yourself.
- Enter the amount (from 50 to 10,000,000) or choose a ready-made package.
- Pay in GRAM by connecting your wallet.
Example prices on Fragment: 50 Stars — 0.6255 GRAM, 100 Stars — 1.2511 GRAM, 250 Stars — 3.1278 GRAM, 500 Stars — 6.2557 GRAM. At a GRAM rate of about $1.2, that is roughly $0.75, $1.5, $3.8 and $7.5. The GRAM rate changes, so compare the price before you buy. For comparison, 500 Stars in the app cost about $12.

Gift Stars to a friend
The “My Stars” section has a “Gift Stars to friends” button. On Fragment you do the same through the recipient field: enter your friend's username instead of “Buy for myself”.
How to earn Stars
The same section has an item “Earn Stars”. You can share links to mini apps and receive part of their revenue in Stars.
Transaction history
All purchases, transfers and spending are visible in the “My Stars” section. The tabs are “All transactions”, “Incoming” and “Outgoing”. For example, a gift transfer is shown there too. The “Statistics” button opens a summary of your Stars.
Safety
- Buy Stars only in the Telegram app or on fragment.com.
- Don't send money to people who promise “cheap Stars” in private messages.
- Never share your login code or password.
