How to sell a Telegram gift: step by step

Short answer: how you sell depends on the type of gift. A collectible gift is sold on Telegram's internal marketplace (for Stars or GRAM) or on third-party marketplaces (for GRAM). A regular gift doesn't get to the marketplace, but within the first 7 days you can exchange it for Stars.

Option 1. Telegram's internal marketplace (for Stars or GRAM)

This is the simplest option for a beginner: there is nothing to install. But it is also the least profitable: the fee is high, so you receive noticeably less than on third-party marketplaces (see option 3).

  1. Open your profile and find the gift.
  2. Tap the gift and choose “Sell”.
  3. Set the price in Stars or GRAM. The gift appears on the marketplace, and your profile shows a “for sale” mark.
  4. To take the gift off sale, tap “Remove from sale”.

Before you set the price, look at how gifts from the same collection sell: the reference is the floor price (the lowest price) and the prices of gifts with similar attributes. A price that is too high won't sell, and one that is too low means lost money.

Option 2. Exchange a gift for Stars (first 7 days)

You can exchange a gift for Stars only within 7 days of receiving it. The app shows how many days are left and the amount you will get: for example, for a gift worth 50 Stars you may be offered 43 Stars. This is not a sale to another person but a return of part of the value in Stars. After the exchange the gift disappears for good and this can't be undone. If you want to keep the gift or it may rise in price, think twice.

The exchange button is in the gift's card: “sell for … Stars”.

Option 3. Third-party marketplaces: settlements in GRAM

Third-party marketplaces work only in GRAM (the new name of the TON network coin). Their main advantage is the fee: on some of them there is none at all, on others it is many times lower than on Telegram's internal market. The money arrives in your wallet, and from there you can withdraw it to a card or exchange it via P2P.

Among the best marketplaces we would single out five:

Some of the links above are affiliate links: if you sign up through them, we get a bonus, and it costs you nothing. We recommend only what we use ourselves.

Each marketplace has its own terms (fee, minimum withdrawal, network fee) and they change, so read the rules before a deal and don't hand over a gift to anyone you haven't verified.

Which wallet to choose

  • Telegram wallet. Built into the app; GRAM transfers are sent like a regular message. Only here are the first 5 transfers a day free; after that the fee is minimal.
  • My Wallet (formerly MyTonWallet). A separate app with a balance, staking and a “Telegram gifts” section.
  • Keeper (formerly Tonkeeper). One of the most popular wallets in the ecosystem.

Use the one you already use and trust, and keep your recovery phrase in a safe place.

How much it costs

  • Upgrading a regular gift to a collectible is paid, in Stars.
  • Exchange for Stars: you get less than the gift cost (43 out of 50 in the example).
  • The fee of Telegram's internal marketplace is high. On third-party marketplaces it is noticeably lower or zero, but check the current rules.
  • Transferring a gift and withdrawing funds may cost extra (in Stars or in GRAM).

Typical mistakes and risks

  • A “buyer” in private messages. They ask you to send the gift first or to move to a “guarantor” via a link. This is the main scam scheme.
  • Fake bots. They copy the names and avatars of the real ones, so check the bot's address.
  • Wrong price. Study the market first, then set the price.
  • Sale restriction. If you bought the Stars for the upgrade through third-party bots instead of Fragment, selling the upgraded gift may be unavailable for up to 21 days. Buy Stars through Fragment: since November 2, 2026 you no longer need verification (KYC) for it.

Quick checklist before selling

  1. Is it a regular or a collectible gift? How many days are left to exchange it for Stars?
  2. What is the minimum price on the market for the collection (the floor price)?
  3. Where are you selling: Telegram's internal market (simpler, higher fee) or a third-party marketplace (lower fee)?
  4. What fees and terms are in the platform's rules? Is there a restriction on the sale?
  5. Is the “buyer” asking for anything unusual?
